I provide psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families. During your initial consultation, we will discuss the nature of your struggles, identify treatment goals, and develop a plan for your therapy.
For adolescent clients, I typically meet individually with the adolescent for the first 45-50 minutes of the initial session. Parents are then invited to participate in the last 10-15 minutes of the initial session. During this time, I will provide a summary of diagnostic impressions and discuss treatment recommendations.
For some adolescents, it may be more appropriate to schedule the intake process as two sessions. The first session is a meeting with parents. This gives us a chance to talk openly and honestly about your concerns for your child. The second session is with your child. This session helps me have a better understanding of your child’s perspective.
Ongoing parent participation in sessions with adolescents will be determined collaboratively between me, the adolescent, and their parents. It may involve individual therapy, family therapy, parent consultation, or a combination of these.
I offer both in-person and tele-health appointments. Please note, however, that my office is located in Minnesota, so in-person appointments are only available to Minnesota-based clients.
Psychotherapy sessions are typically 55-minutes in length, but are flexible based on your needs and preferences.
